Familias Empresarias Management Consulting debuted in Chile in 2008 as an academic project to provide management and corporate governance advice to more than 40 small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). Focused on finding an optimal balance between family needs and business realities across a variety industries, the project included a thorough assessment of their management techniques, governance and business aspirations.
Leveraging the project’s learnings and driven by a desire to implement scientific research in its methodology, the company was formally incorporated as a consultancy in 2013. With the aim to become an active player in the family-owned business sector, Familias Empresarias Management Consulting sponsored the first Family Enterprise Research Conference in the Southern hemisphere in Viña del Mar, Chile in 2013. Since then, the firm has successfully expanded its advisory and research work to include family-owned business across the Latin American region.
